Studio Ellison is a boutique luxury design studio specializing in custom and spec homes, guiding each project from the ground up through every phase of the construction process. Great design goes beyond aesthetics. It's intentional, functional, and deeply personal. By collaborating from the earliest stages of construction, we ensure that beauty and livability are built in from the start, not layered on at the end.
Our approach is shaped by three core pillars: technical knowledge rooted in formal design education, a refined eye developed across a wide range of projects, and hands-on construction experience built working alongside builders from the ground up. This combination allows us to be more than a design studio. We are a true partner in the process, fluent in the language of construction and committed to making every phase smoother for everyone at the table.

ABOUT THE STUDIO
Katie grew up in New York and would often tag along with her dad to the golf course he superintended, learning how things were built from the ground up. From a young age, she was drawn to not just how things look, but how they're crafted and how thoughtful design can make everyday life work better.
She went on to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design, earning a BFA in Interior Design with a minor in Furniture Design. It was there that she fell in love with the industry and where she met her husband, who was stationed in Savannah with the Army.
After graduating, she began working embedded with builders and discovered that her passion wasn't just for beautiful spaces but for the process of bringing them together. The communication, the coordination, the craft. She became as interested in improving how things get built as she was in how they look when they're finished.
In 2021, her husband's service brought them to Nashville, where they renovated their first home together, grew their family, and Katie worked in the residential home building industry. After welcoming their second son, it felt like the right time to take everything she had learned and put it into something of her own, and so Studio Ellison began. She believes the best homes are not just beautiful, they are lived in and loved. That belief shows up in every space she creates.
