Studio Ellison is a boutique interior architecture and design studio specializing in luxury custom and spec homes. With experience on the construction side of the industry, we believe great design lives at the intersection of how a home looks, how it is built, and how it ultimately lives.
The studio partners with discerning homeowners, architects, and luxury custom builders to create interiors that are beautiful, technically resolved, highly functional, and deeply personal.
Rather than simply selecting finishes, Studio Ellison considers the entire interior experience, from architectural details and materiality to documentation, construction coordination, and the way a family will ultimately live in the home.
Our approach is shaped by three core pillars: technical expertise grounded in formal design training, a refined design perspective shaped by a diverse range of projects, and hands-on construction experience gained through years of working alongside builders from the ground up.
This combination allows Studio Ellison to approach each project with both a designer’s eye and a builder’s understanding. We speak the language of design and construction, allowing us to anticipate challenges, communicate clearly, and create a more thoughtful and seamless experience from concept through completion.
STUDIO FOUNDER
I’m Katie, the designer and founder behind Studio Ellison.
I grew up on Long Island, New York, and went on to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I earned my BFA in Interior Design with a minor in Furniture Design. From the beginning, I’ve been drawn to the parts of design that go beyond the finished room: how a space flows, how materials come together, the craftsmanship behind the details, and the process of bringing an idea from paper to something real.
My approach to design has always been rooted in the belief that our surroundings have a profound impact on how we live and how we feel. A well-designed space should not only be beautiful, but should feel intuitive, function effortlessly, and support the people who call it home.
Outside of the studio, I’m a wife and mom to two small boys. Life with a young family has only deepened my appreciation for homes that are beautiful but also comfortable, functional, and made for real life. I believe the best spaces are the ones that evolve with the people who live in them and become part of the stories they create there.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: great design should feel personal. It should reflect the people, the architecture, and the way a home is meant to be lived.
